2014 turned out to be quite the year-- much better than we could have ever anticipated. Nothing about 2014 was predictable, not much was disappointing, and everything went down in the books. We traveled to Madrid, Spain for a workshop, went to Disneyworld for our honeymoon 5 months after we got married, had a wedding in our backyard, played with fire, played with ridiculously cute baby farm animals, played with musicians and designers, had to take a few business trips to the east and west coasts... and actually shot a majority of our weddings out of town.... this could go on and on. How can words ever really encompass what all 365 days of this year stood for?Read More
Earlier this week us and Liz White of LWD Couture went to the east coast to location scout and do a bohemian themed wedding inspiration shoot! Before we post any shots from the shoot here are instax photos that Arlie took, the last image is a polaroid from our land camera of Jameykay and Liz setting up the scene for the shoot.Read More
As it might be apparent by this point, we took a lovely trip to Spain to attend BODAF (translates to "wedding photography") Europe in Madrid. Nothing like an excursion to a foreign country and being amidst some of the greatest artists you've even known to light a fire under your butt. We came back with a new lease and perspective on our business and art. The following are images from the Dylan and Sara workshop we took. In case you were wondering the models are a real couple but they are also both REAL MODELS.Read More
Back in October we visited Korea again! Seoul was full of new and old memories this time around. We traveled to a different city, Chuncheon, went to temples on mountains, watched an elderly lady chase her beer down the steepest hill ever, and ventured into a random field of flowers amidst a city.
We ventured out more with the food we ate and found it hard to part with the kimchi mandu and ramyeon.
Jameykay photographed a Korean girl group and shot one of the girls separately, Shinae. Shinae took us on a tour of Seoul that enabled us to become comfortable doing street photography. I always worry about people being bothered by having their photo taken but apparently in Seoul they don't mind. Like, at all.
Lastly, we experienced Halloween in another country where only the foreigners celebrate it and the Koreans are seriously not used to. We have never seen people so STARTLED, granted we all had some amazing make-up done by Yoon. Meagan scared a girl so bad that the girl fell to the ground and started screaming (she was okay, she eventually started laughing). It was super awesome. Halloween won't ever be the same.
We love South Korea. A lot.Read More
