Sarah and Justin were engaged upon a mountain at Black Balsam, on a cold October day while being guided to safety by their dog Maxi. We returned a year later on a much warmer day, catching an incredible sunset that was so beautiful we almost didn't think to take photos. Cheers to Sarah and Justin!Read More
What seemed like a dream that would always remain so, became a reality for us. Hosting and doing workshops-- teaching others-- has been a personal dream of Jameykay's. She's been wanting to use the knowledge she has gained over the past 11 years to help others get better at their own craft as well as teaching them how to have and achieve a vision for their work. It hasn't been an easy journey for us to find our own aesthetic with wedding photography but we have acquired some skills along the way that aided in creating our unique style.Read More
Sam and Ben are two people who know how to do what they want to do. They wanted to get married in a nature sanctuary but they also wanted photos with the mountains that they love so much. We took them to our favorite and one of the most beautiful mountain tops in the area. The photos tell the rest of the story...Read More
Alisha and Matthew eloped in the most traditional sense possible. All anyone knew was that Matthew made sure he had off work on November 7th. Then, next thing we found out was a few cell phone photos from the Buncombe County Courthouse with the caption "Sup?". Arlie and I had nothing but respect and admiration for the way they went about getting married. They made it no one's business but their own, allowing for their day to go exactly as they wanted it to.Read More
Aubrey, the beautiful snow maiden, everyone. The night it started snowing like crazy we contacted Aubrey to catch what may be the very last snow of the season. She borrowed some gorgeous fur, we put her in part of Jameykay's wedding gown (made by LWD Couture), created her a crown of greenery, and went on a stroll through our family property.Read More
Boudoir sessions are an interesting task to take on. The end result was something that felt natural, images that could be put into frames not just within a secret book kept locked away in a drawer. Images of passion, love, and the creation of beauty. Plus our gorgeous couple are real newlyweds (to each other, duh)! When working with Liz of LWD Couture Bespoke Bridal it seems that we are always pushing ourselves to be better and do something unique, especially once we get the ideas flowing it's hard to stop. To combat a gloomy winter streak a shoot began formulating a few months back and before we knew it there was the sudden possession of black lace, so the shoot that we were already planning had another portion-- a second shoot! Everyone accepted the challenge and we believe we made some breath taking photographs. Every aspect was stunning and delicious (literally! those macaroons tho!) and if these photographs weren't proof I would have sworn this was a dream. Be still our hearts.Read More
Michelle and Ryan traveled up to Asheville from Atlanta for their anniversary session and had quite the awesome request: colorful and fun portraits in the River Arts District, AND 360 VIEWS ON A FREAKING MOUNTAIN TOP!
After some research and a little bit of location scouting we found some perfect locations! According to the weather report all week, this day was supposed to be cloudy, freezing, with freezing rain and snow. I don't think we have ever been more grateful for such an inaccurate weather forecast. Michelle braved the mountain top cold and wind in an elegant black lace designer dress (so worth it)-- those icy trees and the frigid wind has got nothing on the determination of that woman. Michelle and Ryan are the perfect couple, the sunset was glorious, lots of dreams came true this day...and.... we will let the photos speak from here on:Read More
