Echo and Oscar's wedding at Camp Pinnacle was nothing short of joyous and gorgeous! It was early autumn and while we all expected typical autumn weather what we got was middle of the summer weather. Camp Pinnacle is always a stunning place for a camp wedding, where there is a good mix of camp vibes and wedding venue vibes! We hadn't met Echo and Oscar prior to their wedding but on that day it felt as if we'd known each other forever, people even asked us how long we've been friends, and they are the kind of people you hope you'll meet on a wedding day blind date. Warm and welcoming, both them, their families, and their friends. You can see the adoration in Echo and Oscar's eyes when they look at each other, you can feel that long deep bond they have, and all of their goodness poured out on their big day. Enjoy these images from their wedding day!Read More
It was a late October evening and we were waiting 45 minutes up on the parkway for Jennifer and Shawn to arrive for their elopement. As always we were early, but then all of a sudden we start getting texts and calls from numerous people: the bride and groom's GPS wouldn't take them to the correct place no matter if they punched in the address or clicked on it from google-- their GPS kept sending them somewhere else either in California (um, nowhere near North Carolina) or a road name similar to the one they needed to be on. To top it off, Jennifer and Shawn weren't together, they had ridden separately. After a lot of frantic planning, we decided to regroup at the botanical gardens in town, but we were still 45 minutes away. So we raced the sun after we hung up and made it to the botanical gardens while there was still a little light. We had less than 45 minutes of light but we made it happen! It was nothing short of magical, perfect, and worked out better than we could have hoped for!Read More
ler weather with sunshine and a glorious sunset, but what they got was basically the opposite of that. There was an emanating air of excitement and giddy nerves flowing throughout the house, despite being briefly concerned about the sun not coming out and the temperature dropping. The show was going to go on no matter what this mountain weather threw at us.
Aaron had spent part of the day fixing a family member's car that decided to act up, so his hands had the markings of a mechanic, the kind that won't come off no matter how much you wash them. The remnants on his hands made a beautiful juxtaposition with Ashlyn's delicate and carefully manicured hands. His hands told hers that he was going to love her, take care of her, and cherish her for the rest of their lives.
With the GMC Sprint that Aaron fixed up in high school, the journey to the ceremony began. Once up at Craggy Gardens it was obvious that we were not getting any of what we anticipated. The bright, colorful mountain backdrop we planned for turned into a dark, moody, and dreamy dream. It was biting cold, unbelievably windy, and so foggy you could barely see 10 feet in front of your nose. Let's take a moment now to thank heating in cars to be able to keep going. We didn't get that sunset but let's take another moment to thank Aaron's vintage car and it's headlights. Everything turned out the way it was supposed to, though. Their wedding day was something out of a fairytale and you just can't plan for this kind of magic.
On a warm, beautiful late summer's day, Emily and Scott were married at Pine Hollow in Asheville, North Carolina. These two came all the way from San Diego to get married in the outskirts of our awesome city, having an intimate wedding for immediate family and close friends. Emily met Scott while he was on tour with his band (won't say who, but we'll leave it at it's a Grammy nominated band) on the beach during a night walk and well, now the rest is history. Seven years together and still absolutely crazy in love. Since the two of them chose to have a small wedding, they had more room to have all of the elements they wanted designed and set up catered exactly to their taste-- and it was very clear how good of taste Emily and Scott have! Every element was thoughtful, every detail was intentional, and overall stunning. Just like Emily and Scott. These two were so excited to be married and we were so honored to be a part of their big day. Check out the list of amazing Asheville local vendors at the end, we can't say anything other than awesome things about everyone! Enjoy!Read More
Lyn and Drew's big day at Camp Pinnacle was so beautiful, thoughtful, and loving. It was the perfect day weather-wise and the feeling of hearts swelling with love and anticipation made it so we only believed it was real because of the photos. This was a day almost a decade in the making. Lyn and Drew started off as roommates which paved the way for a blossoming romance, where they were caught trying to save water by taking a single shower while a roommate was away and they would sing and dance through the living room and around the house (Lyn has some pretty good dance moves, btw!). Drew's proposal still, of course, jerks some tears from people's eyes, where he took Lyn through his grandparents' home and told her all the things he loves about her and walking through all of the big moments of their lives and love in the house. These two people became more than just clients to us. Upon our first meeting Lyn's heart was so big and so open, and while Drew couldn't sit down with us for too long, we *did* meet them at the brewery he helps run and he was busting his hump to take care of business. We could write a book about Lyn, Drew, and the time we've spent with them, but isn't that what photos are for?! Enjoy this beautiful spring day at a camp in WNC :)Read More
The excitement was utterly undeniable on Macon and Luke's wedding day at Camp Kanuga. Michelle and Carl couldn't have prepared us for the beauty they were going to unfold on their wedding day. They really put their jobs as engineers (NASA engineers might I add) to good use when creating this special time for each other. Elopements are always special because people simplify, and turn to the most important aspects of their lives to declare their eternal love for one another.Read More
